Viajerangpinoy: Baguio In Just One Day

Baguio is consider as the summer capital of the Philippines because of its cool morning breeze with pine scent. It is the popular tourist destination for local and foreign alike, because of its lower temperature compared to other part of the country. It is located 1500 meter high above see level in the province of Benguet.

The Victory Bus

We leave in Manila riding Victory Bus Liner at 12:30 in one Saturday morning and arrived in Baguio at about 6:00am. Victory Bus has schedule every hour, 24 hrs a day, the fare for ordinary aircon is P450 and P650 for deluxe. For more information you may visit their website,www.victoryliner.com.

Have refresh ourselves in the restroom of our branch office. After a short breakfast at Jollibee in Session Road we hired an FX taxi to assist us in the different tourist spot in Baguio. We visited the following beautiful places in Baguio.

1. The first stop is the Zigzag View Deck, wherein you can view the zigzag road going down in Kennon Road.

2. The Lion Head. The Lions' Club of Baguio City, a civic organization, commissioned the larger Lion's the larger Lion's Head carved from natural limestone formation. It now has a view deck and souvenir stalls around it. Now it is considered a tourist attraction and one of the popular images in Baguio.

3. The Philippine Military Academy. For the past 100 years, the officers training school of the Armed Forces in of the Philippines has made Baguio City its home. It boast of a long and illustrious history of preparing only the best Filipino men and women for military services. Located at Fort Gregorio del Pilar on Loakan Road, visitors explore the grounds, view cadets performing their drill, the museum, and walk around to see vintage tanks and other historical military weapons.

4. The Cemetery of Negativism, also called the lost cemetery. I'm just wondering what it looks like during All Saints/Souls Day wherein no relative probably will visit it. It is a cemetery where negative thoughts, emotions can be buried. The tomb contains funny but seemingly thought provoking epitaphs.

It is part of Camp John Hay Historic Core that include the Bell House and Amphitheater. The entrance fee is P50.00 per person.
